Beth Reames began her formal art training at the University of Montevallo where she minored in art. After college she continued her studies in Louisiana with nationally known artists, Henrietta Josephs, Judi Betts, and William Stracener. After a decade interlude to raise her children she returned to her life’s passion of painting and studied with Alice Williams and Marc Chatov in Atlanta. More recently she studied at the New York City Art Students League with internationally acclaimed artists, David Leffel, Gregg Kreutz, Terence Coyle and Robert Baranet, and with internationally renowned portrait artist Daniel Greene. Over the past 35 years she traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe to study subjects and the classical and impressionist masters in the major art museums. Her paintings often reflect images from her numerous trips to Europe and each has a composite touch of her past study. Regardless of the subject, her vibrant impressionist oils are characterized by masterly composition, vivid colors, meticulous attention to light and shadow, and bold confident brushwork. Public and private collections in America, Australia, Canada and Europe include paintings by E.B. Reames. She currently paints and teaches art at her studio in Atlanta.
